Lycra
Lycra is characterized as a highly elastic material contained of a synthetic fiber out of the spandex group. The clothing we call Rashguards, Thermo Tops, Skins, Riding Shirts and Surf Tees partially include this Lycra Material(18-25%). Although there are so many different labels used for those kind of tops, they’ve got features that are more than useful for wakeboarders, surfers, swimmers, divers or kayakers. Riding Shirts and Surf Tees are mainly used during summertime or milder temperatures, fit more or less tightly and call their main task protecting the body from winds and dangerous ultraviolet rays. Also abrasions and other bruising caused by the windsurf harness, lying on the surfboard or crashing a wakeboard obstacle can be avoided by the use of those shirts. Thermo Tops, Rashguards and Skins, on the other hand usually are thicker, fit very tightly and provide additional wind isolation within a higher UV-protection as well as reducing the body going hypothermic. Surfer and wakeboarders may also wear such a Rashguard underneath their wetsuits as a second warmth-keeping layer. Following extra attributes make Lycra clothing absolutely essential for wakeboarders and water sportsmen in general: As the spandex material is added to e.g. polyamid, Rashguards and Rider Shirts are extremely elastic and adjust themselves perfectly to your body, they are fast drying and easy to maintain(hardly any deformations). Because of all those exceptional features concerning wakeboard and watersport clothing, of course Waketoolz offers you Lycra underwear as well.
